Things can be pretty rough for the six to eight million puppies and kitties abandoned to shelters in the U.S. every year -- and for the ones who don't get adopted, shelters are often deadly. According to the Humane Society, "About 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and dogs -- about one every 13 seconds -- are put down in U.S. shelters each year."
That's why Kristen Bell, Carly Aquilino (of Girl Code) and Charlamagne Tha God have teamed up with MTV2, The Ad Council and The Humane Society of the United States to help some of the dogs and cats looking for new homes tell the stories of how they wound up in a shelter to begin with -- in their "own" hilariously adorbs voices.
Here's a sneak peak at the videos, which will make their premier during tonight's episode of "Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne."
Molly (Kristen Bell)
"One night me and this Cocker Spaniel bitch got into it so bad I wound up looking like an ice cream cone."
Daisy (Carly Aquilino)
"He had catnip that was off the hook."
"How 'bout I throw, and you run and get it?"
MTV2 will also be tracking how adoptable dogs and cats will get ready to go from shelter living to a life with their new families on MTV2's Instagram account -- like Joey, who made his debut at the "Pupparazzi Pen" on the VMA red carpet last month, and is pictured here taking a bath and getting his nails did in preparation for what he *hopes* will soon be his big move to a new forever-home.
