'The Forest' Trailer Sends Natalie Dormer To A Place More Dangerous Than Westeros

Aokigahara makes King's Landing look like Disneyland.

Natalie Dormer has been to a number of terrible place on "Game of Thrones," but nothing she's seen in Westeros could prepare her for Aokigahara. Nicknamed the "suicide forest," or "sea of trees," the real life Japanese supernatural hot-spot is the focus -- and setting -- of the new horror movie "The Forest," starring Dormer, Lady Gaga's IRL beau Taylor Kinney, and created by "Batman V Superman" mastermind David S. Goyer.

In mythology, Aokigahara is a place haunted by demons; while in reality, it's a forest known for its hiking difficulty and frequent suicides. In the movie, it's a bit of both as Dormer frantically searches for her twin sister in the woods -- woods where she and Kinney may or may not be alone.

"The Forest" hits theaters on January 8, 2016.
