Katie Stevens Says She's 'Faking It' All The Time

Find out what the MTV star thinks of society's beauty standards.

Would you believe that Katie Stevens is constantly "Faking It" in real life?

The MTV actress opened up to Refinery29 about the beauty expectations placed upon her -- and revealed what she says when she hits the red carpet and someone asks her if she's indeed faking it like her TV character Karma. "I say, 'I’m faking my tan out of a bottle from CVS, I have fake eyelashes on, I’m really a dark brunette,'” she said.

Stevens added that women are stuck between a rock and hard place when it comes to keeping up appearances -- and doesn't think it's just a Hollywood thing either. "Even as women, aren't we 'faking it' all the time?" she asked. "We put makeup on our faces, but then if we weren't faking it, we'd get called out for faking it. And then if we're not faking it, we get, 'Why didn't you do something with yourself?'"

Do you think makeup helps women be their best, or does it just cause society to have unreal expectations of beauty? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and be sure to catch Katie professionally fake it on MTV's "Faking It," Mondays at 9:30/8:30c.
