Justin Bieber has collaborated with everyone from Usher and Ludacris to Skrillex and Diplo, but working with Kanye West is different. According to Biebs, it all has to do with Yeezy’s “creative input.”
"I’ll play a song, and he’ll be like, 'Man this reminds me of like...a blacklight sunset,' or something,” Bieber told Complex for the magazine’s cover story. "He’ll try to paint these pictures for you. It’s not the average way. He doesn’t just come in and say, 'This sounds good; this sounds bad.’ He’ll be like, 'This is this because the world needs this.’ He comes from a whole different point of view."
Ye’s feedback might not be what most musicians are used to, but Biebs has been listening to Yeezy. Earlier this month, JB explained why he takes heed when Yeezus speaks.
“Kanye’s a talker,” he told Clique at the time. “You get him in a room and he starts talking and ranting, I just sit and I listen. He’s been through a lot of stuff and he’s not just talking to talk, he has something to say from his heart. I just sit and listen because he’s really smart."
Their bond has even extended beyond music. Not only did Bieber show up to Ye's basketball b-day party this year, he's also ready to support Yeezus' presidential run. “Kanye for President, all the way," he recently told 92.3 AMP Radio’s “Shoboy In the Morning." "Huge Kanye fan.”
And now fans can't wait to hear what Ye and Biebs have been working on:
If their work together lands on Biebs' next project, it'll be part of the singer's autobiographical effort. "I think I'm telling my story through this album," he told MTV News earlier this year. "I really haven't used my voice so I want to use it in my music."
