Nicki shared a photo of her pink-haired doll on Instagram and, in addition to congratulating Zendaya and reminding fans of her Barbie, highlighted one of the most important parts of Zendaya's doll—the hair. She writes, "Anyway, I love your doll's hair! I love what it means for other little girls who will identify with it & be empowered. Continue to be proud of yourself girls!!!!! ? #Barbie."
The doll is modeled after Zendaya's stunning 2015 Oscars look, which, you may recall, was the recipient of extremely ignorant comments regarding her hair, which was styled in locs. In her caption, Zendaya writes, "When I was little I couldn't find a Barbie that looked like me, my...how times have changed. Thank you @barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty."
In a side-by-side image of the two dolls, Nicki writes, "they should have matching bff Barbie cars with the dreamhouse to match. Love this."
Please, someone make this happen—can you imagine how incredible and empowering these two women together would be? We would all benefit from them hanging out—in plastic and IRL.
