'Men In Black' Is Getting A Reboot, Minus One Big Thing

Your childhood! Your dreams! The very foundation of the universe!

All of these things are about to be rattled, because that reboot of the "Men in Black" franchise is reportedly moving forward at Sony -- without Will Smith.

No, no, stop trying to use the Neuralyzer on yourself. This is real, and we need to come to terms with it.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producers Laurie MacDonald and Walter Parkes confirmed that Sony is moving forward with a reboot, and that no, the Fresh Prince is "most likely" not involved (per MacDonald).

"We're in the middle of it. It's very active," Parkes said.

"It will be reinvented as a trilogy," MacDonald said.

In January, on the Golden Globes red carpet, "21 Jump Street" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller said that those rumors of a "Jump Street"-"M.I.B." crossover might not be so far-fetched.

“We’re really focussing on what’s a great story for Schmidt and Jenko and how to tell the next chapter in their lives,” Lord said. “And perhaps use creatures from another world at the same time.”

So, is this it? Is Channing Tatum going to give an out of this world performance at some point down the line?

We can only hope that if that did come to pass, he'd recreate this fantastic moment.
