Being friends with a celebrity probably has a lot of perks -- i.e., V.I.P. access to fancy events, some legitimate 411 on the gossip goods, and, well, the ability to say "I actually know so-and-so."

But as with any normal friendship, there are rules. And when one is broken so egregiously as what Ryan Reynolds' old buddy did to him, well, there's probably no going back from it.

Reynolds is featured on the cover of GQ's October issue and inside, he revealed the icky thing that one of his former besties did to him and his wife, Blake Lively, and it's fifty shades of NOPE.

Reynolds revealed to the mag that he and Lively had shared an intimate family photo with their "closest family and... friends," and one among them saw dollar signs.

Reynolds said his so-called "friend," who was someone he'd grown up with and knew for 25 years, tried to shop the personal image of himself, Lively, and their baby daughter James in the delivery room from the day of her birth, and it of course broke his heart.

It "was like a death," the "Deadpool" star told the mag. "It was one of those devastating things to find out."

Apparently, the dude who did it was constantly "asking for a check" from him, but Reynolds was still surprised to find himself on the receiving end of such a nasty betrayal.

"I don't think he thought he would ever be caught," Reynolds explained. "But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to."

And so the opportunistic a-hole was BUSTED. Rightfully so.
