On the 2015 Emmys red carpet, Lady Gaga stunned in a simple, one-shoulder dress from Brandon Maxwell.

While the look was A+, it was decidedly different than the looks we've generally come to expect from Mother Monster.

The dress she changed into for the after-party, however, was a different story.

While her white dress was also from Brandon Maxwell's brand new collection, it had a lot more going on than the black one. The main thing—just in case you hadn't noticed—were those sleeves.

Actually, a side view reveals they're not just sleeves—they are connected and wrap around her entire back. The billowiest shrug in the entire world, basically.

From the back you get an idea of the full volume of the piece—I don't know how much sitting occurs at Emmys after-parties, but Gaga was for sure not participating.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres on October 7, which, hopefully, means there is more red carpet Gaga to come. Will she err on the side of simplicity or sleeves? Thankfully, we won't have to wait long to find out.
