Word to the wise: if you're going to go to Everest, even if it's just for a movie, it's smart to do a little prep work in advance.
As the cast of the upcoming movie "Everest" found out, the summit is not for the weak of heart.
"I nearly said to no the whole thing," actor John Hawkes told MTV News.
Josh Brolin, who also plays a mountaineer, said that the unpredictable nature of the weather on the rugged location could be a problem.
"We dealt with avalanches, we dealt with massive weather situations and we dealt with a lot of chaos that comes with doing the movie outside in the middle of nowhere in the snow," he said.
But then, there were sometimes totally preventable problems, like when Jake Gyllenhaal almost lost a little part of himself to the cold.
"The one day of work where I decided I wasn't going to wear anything covering my head I almost frosbit my ear, and that was the stupidest thing I've ever done," he admitted.
