Why 'Malcolm In The Middle' Should Absolutely Get A Reboot

You're not the boss of me now - again.

Revisiting classic TV shows from the '90s (and early '00s) is all the rage these days. "Boy Meets World" continues on with the story of Corey and Topanga's daughter in "Girl Meets World," and "Full House" is getting even "Fuller" on Netflix soon. So why hasn't "Malcolm In The Middle" gotten the sequel series treatment yet? Because as the theme song once taught us, life is unfair.

Admit it, you'd totally love to see Malcolm, Reese, Dewey, Hal, Lois and even little Jamie back on your TV screens in a continuation of the Emmy-winning TV show -- and given how many of the stars appear to be on board with a reunion now seems like the right time. Here's why:

Frankie Muniz is totally down to revisit the show.

Last week the man himself tweeted out to his followers that the idea of a "Malcolm" reunion sounds like a rollicking good time. "How fun would 'Malcolm In The Mid-life Crisis' be?," he asked. "I wonder what Malcolm and his family would be up to now!"

Later he clarified that he was only "gaging interest," but from the looks of it, people seem pretty dang interested. Heck, the guys behind the Fine Bros YouTube channel even offered to help out.

So is Bryan Cranston.

While at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend, the "Breaking Bad" actor told ET Canada that of all the characters he's played in his career, Hal's the one he's most interested to revisit. "It's been 10 years since we went off the air, and it'd be fun to pick up that guy's clothes again and be fun and sweet and adorable and hapless and clueless and afraid of everything," he said.

Jane Kaczmarek would probably be game, too.

Back in 2013, Kaczmarek appeared on HuffPost Live to address the rumors that she'd be appearing on the final season of "Breaking Bad" -- she didn't, of course -- and talked about a real life reunion party she'd been at with the entire cast and crew of the show. "We were kind of tossing around the idea that it would be fun to do something. I don't know if it would be possible... [but] it would fun to do it. It's been a while!"

Justin Berfield could produce the whole thing

On the show, Reese may have been a total jerk, but he grew up to become the Chief Creative Officer of Virgin Produced, the entertainment division of Richard Branson's Virgin Group.

Former "Malcolm" showrunner Linwood Boomer still knows his comedy.

He was a consulting producer on "The Mindy Project," after all!

The younger kids would probably be fairly easy to recast.

We can't imagine "Malcolm In The Middle" without the amazing Dewey, played by Erik Per Sullivan -- but he isn't acting anymore and has basically fall off the grid as far as we know. Same thing with James and Lukas Rodriguez, who took turns playing Jamie. But it's been so long that it wouldn't be hard to find replacements for those two characters, if absolutely needed.

Malcolm's probably in his thirties now, which is rife with possibilities.

frankie muniz

Frankie Muniz likes the idea of a mid-life crisis, but there are a lot of places you could go with an adult Malcolm. Maybe he could be married with his own weird batch of kids, like in the "Boy Meets World" sequel -- or maybe he's in a state of arrested development and unable to have the life he wants because his weird family keeps getting in the way.

The Wilkersons always wanted a girl -- why not give them one?

While Lois was so fascinated with the idea of having girls that she once hallucinated her entire family as female children, the baby she eventually had in the fifth season, Jamie, was eventually played by a set of male twins. Maybe in the time between the two shows, she could have had a girl, too?
