Wait… Is Calvin Harris Actually In Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ Video?

This amazing fan theory might just convince you.

Swifties, have you thoroughly dried your eyes after watching the wondrously cinematic and absolutely sob-worthy video for “Wildest Dreams” yet? Good, because we have a very important theory to discuss that demands immediate analysis.

We all saw our girl Taylor Swift debut the vid on our VMA pre-show on Sunday, not long before she picked up a pair of Moonmen for her OTHER amazing achievements in the world of music video art. At the same time, halfway across the world, Tay’s boyfriend/cat-sitter/defender of her honor Calvin Harris changed his Instagram profile picture to a photo of a lion.

It may seem like a random choice of avatar, but a fan theory making waves on Tumblr ties it in with the “Wildest Dreams” video in an utterly jaw-dropping way. You ready? Let’s break it down:

In the video, Taylor stars as a classic (and dark-haired!) Hollywood actress shooting a romantic movie with Scott Eastwood that probably went on to earn a bajillion Oscars.

Taylor and Scott share some steamy make-out scenes, but he ultimately leaves her heartbroken when they return from their African safari movie set and he goes back to *the other woman.*

Now, about a minute into the video, we see a regal-looking lion standing over Taylor and looking extremely protective.

The lion then returns during a pivotal sequence in the vid, watching over her as things get (literally) stormy with Scott, and Taylor’s heart is shattered.

The fan theory claims that the lion is a representation of Calvin, and symbolizes his love and protection over Taylor. Basically, he’s the fierce protector of her heart, and his Instagram photo subtly ties it all together.

We know Taylor is a devoted cat lover — and lions are the most powerful felines of all — so this actually, kinda makes sense to us. What do you think — is this theory totally bogus or definitely legit? Let us know what you think in the comments!
