The White House Is Totally On Board With Kanye’s Presidential Bid

This is getting serious, people... the White House has officially responded to 'Ye's announcement.

It’s been a full day since Kanye West announced he would run for president in 2020, and our brains are honestly still processing it.

Sure, we’ve already whipped up some killer designs for his campaign merch and outlined his stances on some key issues. But we haven’t quite wrapped our heads around the sheer possibility of Kimye glamming it up for state dinners with the leaders of Uzbekistan. And if you thought the rambling, “bro”-filled Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech he gave at the VMAs last night was amazing, just IMAGINE his State of the Union addresses.

Of course, there are some skeptics who may dismiss Kanye’s potential bid as bogus folly, but you know who’s already on board with him Bounding 2 Be President? The motherf--king White House.

While en route to Alaska with President Obama today (Aug. 31), White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was asked about Kanye’s out-of-left-field announcement. His response? He told reporters that he’s looking “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.”

So there you have it: the White House has officially welcomed a potential presidential bid from candidate Kanye, despite his and Obama’s somewhat rocky history in the press. Obama has called ‘Ye a “jackass” on two separate occasions, but they DO apparently talk on the phone sometimes. As bros do.

And as for that hat slogan? We think a nice “Yeezus For President Bruh!” gets the point across spectacularly.
