It's almost time to start the music! It's almost time to light the lights! It's also almost time to fight for your life, because "The Hunger Games" is about to invade "The Muppets," and we are officially freaking out.

Okay, it's not an official crossover — not yet, at least — but it's close: Liam Hemsworth is about to cross paths with Kermit and Miss Piggy. Entertainment Weekly reports that the man who plays Gale in the "Hunger Games" movies has booked a guest starring role on the upcoming ABC series "The Muppets," playing himself. So, he's not going to be Gale, but you have to imagine some version of "Hunger Games" action will follow him into the Muppets' lives. It's too good to resist, as the Muppets already know all too well.

Plus, I happen to know firsthand that Kermit is a huge fan of Gale and the gang, from when I spoke with him a few years ago. Time to put that nerdy knowhow to better use, Kermy!

"The Muppets" hits ABC on September 22, and will feature a bunch of high profile guest stars in the weeks ahead, including Hemsworth's fellow "Hunger Games" veteran Elizabeth Banks.
