Vixen has finally arrived, and we can't wait to find out more about her.
First announced in January as part of The CW's fall schedule, the "Vixen" mini-series will follow the story of Mari McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke), a young woman struggling to break into the fashion design industry and learn more about her absent biological parents. Oh, and as a part of CW's ongoing DC universe along with "Arrow," "The Flash," and the upcoming "Legends of Tomorrow," she's got superpowers, too. Can't forget to mention that.
As we see in the series' first four-minute episode, which was released on CW Seed today (August 25), her origin story is a little bit different than that of her DC comic book counterpart -- but then, so's everyone's on The CW, right?
Speaking of which, we also get a great look of Arrow and The Flash trying to take Vixen down in all their animated glory -- their roles are played by the actual guys from the show, Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin, and they'll be featured prominently in the mini-series as it continues.
Head over to the CW Seed website or download the app to watch the first episode, and be sure to check out this teaser trailer from the CW Seed YouTube channel in which executive producer Marc Guggenheim explains how Vixen's story fits into The CW's superhero universe:
