In the continuing saga of "Jimmy Fallon has awful, awful luck" Fallon created another injury while trying to take care of his already-present injury. Wait, let's back up a second and recap.
OK, so Fallon tripped on a rug back in June. Everything would have been all fine and dandy, except his ring got stuck on the countertop, and pulled his finger in a way fingers really aren't supposed to be pulled. After going to the ER, the doctor told him he didn't break his finger, but instead had ring avulsion. (DON'T GOOGLE PICTURES. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.)
Long story short, doctors were able to save his finger from amputation thanks to successful microsurgery. But, he still has his finger wrapped up (you can see it on recent episodes) and has to apply scar tissue repair gel to the wound.
That's where his second summer fiasco comes into play. Fallon shared this photo on Instagram Friday (August 21), and it's so sad it's kind of funny.
Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue repair gel for recovering finger injury. Thank you Dr. Jobe DDS! #BestSummerEver Brand new Tonight Show tonight!
So, let's try and be extra careful from now on, Jimmy! We need you in one piece.
