These Rap Biopics Might Follow 'Straight Outta Compton'

Are you ready for the Tupac movie?

"Straight Outta Compton" has become a huge hit in theaters and now it looks like many rap biopics will try to follow. On Friday (Aug. 21), rumors of at least two films loosely tied to this one made waves.

One of these revolves around Tupac Shakur. Actor Marcc Rose - who plays 'Pac in "Straight Outta Compton" - could portray the iconic legend again in a potential John Singleton picture. Rose told Yahoo that they are in the brainstorming phase.

You may recall Rose and Singleton were formerly tied to a different 'Pac film. They since cut ties with that movie to create their own, but all hope is not lost. "If the rights to the biopic are returned to 'Pac’s mom, Afeni Shakur, John Singleton and I will be re-associated with it,” Rose said.

Tupac's Death Row mates may also have a biopic coming. Today, TMZ reported that Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound and Warren G are set to be highlighted in a biopic about the record label. Daz, a former member of the camp, also said the picture will explore gang violence’s influence on hip-hop.

Dr. Dre’s son Curtis Young is slated to play his father, according to the report. Other roles have not been announced. While former Death Row CEO Suge Knight, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are not going to participate in this movie, Daz said Cube gave him the idea for it.

What do you think of these potential biopics? Are there any others you'd like to see? Let us know in the comments.
