Chad Michael Murray Pens An Emotional Tribute To His Late Dog And ‘Best Bud’

The former 'One Tree Hill' star remembered his '1st born son' as 'the best dog in the whole world.'

A quick scroll through Chad Michael Murray’s Instagram will tell you a couple things: 1) Yes, he’s still just as dreamy as he was on “One Tree Hill” and “Gilmore Girls,” and 2) He f—king loves animals.

The 33-year-old actor is constantly filling his feed with pics of his dogs and snaps that promote the fight against animal cruelty and abuse, a cause he’s very clearly passionate about.

Almost three months ago, Chad shared a pic of his pup Joe, writing in the caption that he’s “fallen on hard times.”

“This is the best dog in whole world,” he wrote at the time. “Joes been with me for 14 1/2 years. Every step of the way he's done more for me than I could ever do for him. My family & I are so grateful to have his companionship in this life. He's fallen on hard times right now. Please send out some prayers. #MansBestFriend #Prayers4Joe.”

Unfortunately, Chad revealed in another pic posted Monday (Aug. 17) that Joe has passed away. Along with a collage of sweet moments they shared together, Chad wrote a heartfelt message to his longtime companion, mourning his loss but expressing how happy he is that Joe got to meet his baby son, whom he welcomed with wife Sarah Roemer in May.

“My best bud & 1st born son Joe, Thank you for everything you've ever done for me,” Chad wrote. “You've been my kindred spirit, my unconditional friend. Thank you for carrying the weight that I could not. You taught me more about selflessness and compassion than I thought a dog could know. Thank you for always keeping the status Quo. Even the dogs at the dog park thank you for keeping the peace.

“Almost 15 years of adventures Joe and I'm so grateful for every minute,” he continued. “Rest easy now bud. Check in on us once and while would ya... You're missed and always will be. Thx for waiting to meet my son. This family won't be the same without you but so much stronger because of you. Rest in peace Joey. We Love You, Chad, Sarah & Baby Murray.”

And in another tear-worthy tribute, Chad’s wife also tweeted her own sweet message to the late pup, thanking him for taking “such good care” of her hubby.
