Andrew Garfield Is Glad To Be Done With 'Spider-Man' And Here's Why

With Tom Holland taking over, Garfield can sit back and be a Spidey fanboy again.

Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield ain't mad atcha, kid. In fact, he's actually kind of glad there's a new guy ensnared in the "Spider-Man" movie web right now, because it means he can just chillax and enjoy the show like everyone else again. Phew.

Speaking to ET Online, Garfield explained that Marvel's recent takeover OF the franchise, which gives the 19-year-old British newcomer a shot at Peter Parker in their unnamed reboot project, is kind of a relief.

"It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor," said Garfield, who portrayed the string-slinger in Sony's two (originally supposed to be three-)-part "Amazing Spider-Man" series. "He was in this movie 'The Impossible' and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor."

Garfield also praised Holland's dancer bod, of all things, because it means he is in proper form for the role.

(Note: He can also do this which is equally as important.)

But it's not just the fact that Holland's a good match for the part that makes Garfield more than OK with all of this. He's also delighted to not be so responsible for the franchise and fanfare anymore.

"I’m just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it," he said.

FWIW, Tom looks ready.
