It's Friday, so you know what that means: Another Carly Rae Jepsen song!
For those who are keeping count, "Your Type" is the seventh song Carly has released off her upcoming album E·MO·TION (August 21) and it's arguably the best one yet.
The catchy love song will make you want to dance but also help you through some heartbreak, since the lyrics are brimming with romantic woes. Carly pines over someone that is just not giving her the time of day, but she's tired of pretending, and over being just a friend.
“I break all the rules for you, break my heart and start again/ not the type of girl you call more than a friend,” she sings.
The mid-tempo electro-pop, '80s beat seems to be a theme over the past few tracks from Carly's album, and I'm totally on board, probably because I'm still obsessed with her last album, Kiss, which had a similar vibe.
Next week, we will finally get to hear the entire collection of songs off her album, including those she has released: “I Really Like You”, “Run Away With Me,” “Your Type,” "Warm Blood," "All That" and the title track.
