Jackson Riso, a data analyst and representative from StubHub-esque ticket sales site TickPick, says he noticed a decline in the ticket prices for the tour beginning once the Philly rapper accused Drizzy of having a ghostwriter. They also pinpointed the days when Drake released his dis tracks, "Charged Up" and "Back to Back Freestyle," as well as Meek dropping "Wanna Know," as turning points.
“The average ticket price for a Meek Mill [and] Nicki Minaj concert on July 20 was $179,” he told Philly.com. “By the time OVO Fest came around, that had fallen nearly 20 percent, to $148.” Though prices reportedly typically drop the longer a tour has gone on, the rate at which they fell in this case was notable to Riso. Sam Smith ticket sales, on the other hand, have dropped just $10 during that same time.
We can't be absolutely sure that the beef and the sales change are related, but it's certainly some eyebrow-raising data.
With four dates left, the North American leg of the tour wraps up on Aug. 23.
