Why Does Zac Efron Have So Many Sunglasses? We Have Some Ideas

You only have two eyes, Zac.

Yesterday (Aug. 8), Zac Efron uploaded this picture to both his Twitter and Instagram accounts with no context whatsoever.

Is this for some kind of photo shoot? Movie? TV show? Web series? WE DON'T KNOW. So, we decided to come up with our own ~theories~ as to why in God's name Zac Efron needs 174830 pairs of sunglasses.

  1. Zac feels threatened by Blink-182 member Mark Hoppus's glasses game and wants to step it up.
  2. Or, he feels even more threatened by Johnny Depp's glasses game in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."
  3. He's doing a movie called "Shady King: The Battle for Sight."

Zac's character is a new-age warlord who steals everyone's sunglasses just as the Sun gets extremely close to Earth. Fearful the population is about to be blinded, a futuristic Robin Hood (let's just say Channing Tatum) assembles a rag-tag team of misfits to break into Zac's mansion and free the sunglasses.

  4. He wants to recreate Amy Schumer's iconic Entertainment Weekly cover photo, but with sunglasses instead of alcohol.
  5. He plans to go in and photoshop sunglasses onto every single #TBT picture he's ever posted.
  6. He's writing a Broadway musical titled, "How Sun Became Glass," and needs sunglasses around him for "inspiration."
  7. He hopes to recreate this GIF of Sunglasses Kid.
  8. The sunglasses are part of some weird publicity stunt for his upcoming movie "We Are Your Friends."
  9. He's planning a young adult story about sunglasses in love.

The protagonist, a cracked pair of sunglasses, falls in love with a prescription pair of sunglasses, and the two quickly become star-crossed lovers. Similar to "Romeo and Juliet," except (spoilers) nobody dies in the end.

  10. He lost a bizarre bet from Robert De Niro after working on "Dirty Grandpa."
  11. He wants to be an even more epic version of Juni from "Spy Kids."
  12. And finally, he knows he looks damn good in sunglasses.
