Lupe Fiasco and Yasiin Bey have appeared together before, on Kanye West's "Don't Look Down," and share a number of collaborators. But they may get in the ring and square off against one another soon (the musical ring, of course).
"Me, Black Thought and King Los versus anybody -- everybody," the man formerly known as Mos Def said in a new video. "Battle anybody. I don't care who you tell. Red Bull Music Academy, put up a mil on that, and we'll give our winnings to charity."
Hey, good competition and a good cause? Hard to not get behind this.
Mos wasn't done, though.
"Tired of these dudes pretending like they dope -- you alright, but relax," he said. "The dope n---as that think they dope, you ain't as dope as you think.
I know n---as be thinking I'm crazy -- whatever. I ain't playin'."
Lupe Fiasco saw the challenge...and accepted.
That second part, of course, is a reference to Quentin Miller, Drake's alleged ghostwriter.
It seems some Drizzy fans caught wind of Lu's remarks, and didn't take too kindly to them, so he followed up with a clarification of sorts.
Fans, understandably, seem excited about the prospects of a Mos vs. Lupe showdown.
Alright fellas, let's make this happen.
