From the difficulty of buying your first bra to the terror of repeating an outfit, "Lizzie McGuire" always understood what it was like for a teen girl wading into the world of fashion. Lizzie's outfits were adventurous and fun, and, somehow, no matter what she was wearing, she always looked fierce.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, though, looking that perf is no easy task. Here are all the struggles that every girl who tried to look like Lizzie McGuire will understand.

No matter how hard you tried, your hair just wouldn’t crimp.

And you definitely couldn't master this epic crimp/curl/straight combo.

And butterfly clips? Those just destroyed your scalp.

But they were sparkly, so worth it.

Attempts at elaborate hairstyles usually just led to knots.

So. Much. Brushing.

The perfect face frame was always out of your grasp.

And no way could you pull off a center part.

Bandanas: helpful for when you want to sneak into an R-rated movie; less helpful when they get stuck in your hair.

Visors were not as easy to pull off as Hilary Duff made them seem.

Then again, Hilary Duff can pull of everything, so...

Clip-in color extensions were way too uncomfortable to wear every day.

And actually dyeing a strip of hair? No way the parents were approving that one.

Same goes for chokers.

So itchy.

Eye glitter was crazy difficult to apply.

Even though it's *what dreams are made of*.

Your mom would never let you buy huge feather boas.

Parents never understand what it takes to be cool.

You never really understood the point of fingerless gloves, but you knew you really wanted them.

If there's no fingers, how am I supposed to stay warm?... Who cares, I want five.

Patterned jeans were pretty much impossible to find.

And cute berets? Forget about it.

You were never daring enough to match pink camouflage with a shiny navy backpack.

Sometimes you've got to risk it to get the biscuit.

They didn’t sell blow-up igloo dresses at the mall.

I don't see why, though.

Platform sandals? Cute, but not the best for dancing. Or walking.

So many twisted ankles.

Basically, fashion was just too much work.

Your plane style was more extra-large sweatpants and a hoodie than cute braids and a baseball tee.

You could never put this much commitment into your Halloween costumes.

Where does she find the time?
