We’ve all heard the heartbreaking stories behind each of these victims’ deaths and, though the injustice is infuriating, it’s also sparked a passionate and necessary conversation about the relationship between police brutality and victim-blaming.

On this week’s mini-episode of MTV News' “Decoded,” Franchesca Ramsey drops the harrowing statistic that 675 people have been killed by police since January 2015. And yet, so many people are quick to blame the victims, instead of holding police accountable.
