After we drooled all over the cover at this year's BEA, we've been pretty stoked to get our hands on "After the Red Rain," a new YA novel by Barry Lyga, Robert DeFranco, and -- yes -- noted "Twilight" vampire Peter Facinelli.
Unfortunately, the book won't be officially out until next week, which means that many of our most burning questions about the book will have to wait to be answered.
But if you're getting thirsty for the red rain and its exciting aftermath*, here's something to quench ya right here, right now: MTV News has the exclusive book trailer.
And it's absolutely saturated (see what we did there?) with titillating imagery, a freaky crimson landscape, and enough red... um, liquid, that we wouldn't be surprised if a Cullen family member had a hand in the art direction.
Check out the trailer and book description below.
On the ruined planet Earth, where 50 billion people are confined to mega-cities, and resources are scarce, Deedra has been handed a bleak and mundane existence by the Magistrate she works so hard for. But one day, she comes across a beautiful boy struggling to cross the river. A boy with a secretive past and special abilities, who is somehow able to find comfort and life from their dying planet. A boy with an unusual name...Rose. Can Rose’s existence hint at a world that wasn’t always on the fringe?
"After the Red Rain" will be released August 4, 2015.
*Just a figure of speech. Do not drink the actual red rain. Not that we know what it is, but we're still pretty sure it's not good for you.
