It’s an indisputable rule of life that everything is better in threes, which is why this year’s hosting choice for the Teen Choice Awards has us feeling all kinds of jazzed up.
The TCAs have long had a predilection for tag-teams: Sarah Hyland and “Teen Wolf” hottie Tyler Posey teamed up last year, Darren Criss and Lucy Hale helmed the show the year before that, and Demi Lovato hosted with former “Glee” star Kevin McHale in 2012.
But this year, the TCAs has appointed a TRIO of worthy hosts to anchor the evening’s festivities: former Nickelodeon star Josh Peck, rapper/actor/Bieber roaster Ludacris, and “Jane the Virgin” leading lady Gina Rodriguez.
Josh shared a cute photo collage of him and his new co-hosts, saying he’s “so stoked” for the gig.
Along with announcing the show’s hosts, the third wave of nominees was also unveiled today, which includes social-media focused categories like Choice Fandom, Choice Viner and Choice YouTuber.
Ultimately, Josh, Luda, and Gina seem like an intriguing team because of all the different talents they’ll bring to the table. You’ve got Ludacris’ “cool” factor and suaveness, Gina’s irresistible charm and contagious smile, and Josh’s silly, Vine-famous humor.
The three of them combined may not add up to as crazy-awesome a host as Miley Cyrus (sorry, had to), but we’re thinking they’ll make the TCAs a must-watch. Oh, and then there’s that little matter of One Direction and Zayn Malik competing for the same award… yep, we’ll definitely be waiting to see how this all plays out when the show airs Sunday, Aug. 16 on FOX.
