Your classic Chuck Taylors are getting a makeover for the first time in its hundred-year history, which means they're about to get a lot more comfortable.
The Chuck Taylor All Star II will (finally) have Nike technology with features like arch support, a no-slip tongue, and "super soft" micro-suede lining. As you can assume, you don't get all these new fancy additions without coughing up the extra cash. The new All Stars will sell go for $75, unlike the originals which run at $55. But that's just the price you pay for not having to destroy your heel every time you wear your favorite sneakers. C'est la vie.
The limited-edition sneakers, which are straight up just the shoes plus fancy packaging, have already sold out. But you can start buying the All Star II (high top and low top) in stores or online on July 28. And what's a few extra days when you've already been waiting a hundred years?
