Jaden Smith Explains Why He Is A Divergent Thinker

Smith, Drake, and Tyler, the Creator are all MSFTs.

Jaden Smith decided it was time to let us all in on what a MSFT is.

"It’s different for everybody,” he said in a video released through Chaotic Conditions on Tuesday (July 21). “Being a MSFT is somebody that’s like, ‘I’m not gonna conform to society. I’m gonna be a divergent thinker, someone who thinks of multiple solutions to one problem.”

Jaden went on to say that he’s going to create his own music because he doesn’t like the tunes he’s hearing from others. Smith also added that he’s going to design his own clothing for a similar reason.

But the rapper wasn't just speaking about his collective. Smith also went on to salute Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar as fellow MSFTs. Drake and Odd Future received praise, too. In fact, Jaden acknowledged that he mimics his favorite acts - including Drizzy and Tyler - in order to find himself.

MSFTSrep also released a statement on its website to let us know a little more about the self-described "family."

"MSFTSrep – short for MSFTS republic – could be looked at, in simplest terms, as a creative work force dedicated to supporting and waking up the population of planet earth, through attaining knowledge and personal growth," the site - which offers music and clothing - explains. "But even that puts it into a box. Anything that could be put into words puts it in a box, because MSFTSrep is more of an expression rather than an explanation.

"So please keep in mind, there has never been anything like MSFTSrep before, because there are very few collectives willing to sacrifice the safe, cliché, and popular for something entirely new which has never been seen before," the statement continues. "Because it is simply impossible to predict the unknown, and MSFTSrep is in fact, unknown."

Look forward to more divergent thinking from Jaden Smith. It looks like he's got some huge plans for both clothing and music.
