HYFR! Drake Is The MLB’s Most Popular Choice For Walkup Music

Major League Baseball loves the 6 God.

Baseball probably isn’t the first thing you think of when you think of Drake, but lately, the Toronto rapper has become a popular choice for walkup music in the MLB. In fact, he’s become the most popular choice.

Billboard looked into which artists get played the most at Major League Baseball games before a player takes the plate and found that Drake has been picked a total of 17 times this season. And that’s only counting his solo work; if you include songs where he’s featured, you’ll have to add 13 more tracks to that count.

The two most popular Drake songs in baseball are two of his newest cuts: “6 God” and “Energy,” both taken from the rapper’s recent mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. He also appears on the most popular song in the whole league this season: “Blessings” by Big Sean. Behind Drake in the tally were AC/DC, Jason Aldean, Jay Z and Big Sean himself.
