"So honoured and ecstatic to announce my collaboration with @balenciaga on the upcoming FW15 Menswear campaign!!!! #Balenciaga," he wrote on a video that's so dark you could hardly see him. We needed more.
He quickly followed up with this photo, captioning it with "You’ll be able to see my full FW15 @balenciaga Men’s campaign VERY soon.. so happy xx #Balenciaga." That wasn't enough either.
While it already feels like it's been FOREVER since those inaugural photos, he has finally blessed us with some real shots from the campaign on Instagram.
Sam poses in what seems like the world's most sophisticated bunker, wearing a wool coat and leather-paneled black pants. Yes.
He also wears a plaid, knee length coat while posing next to a stone placed on a stone table. We don't exactly get it, but I don't think we need to, ya know? #FASHUN
In the last photo (so far, at least), he wears black leather gloves while holding an oversized structured bag. We die.
This is the first time Sam has appeared in a major fashion campaign and he's clearly stoked about it (it is Balenciaga, after all).
"I am absolutely honoured to have been chosen to be the face of Balenciaga," he said in the press release. "I have been a devoted fan of the brand for a while now. I love how intimate it feels, and how involved Alexander has been and is with the brand. I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be wearing these clothes let alone modelling them. So this is a dream come true, and I hope the beginning of a lovely long relationship with Alexander and the House."
We do too, Sam. We do too.
