Now that his boy band-ing days are done, Nick Lachey has a new business venture in mind: growing marijuana. Seriously.
As reported by Access Hollywood, Lachey is one of several investors involved in trying to get the state of Ohio to legalize marijuana for medicinal and recreational use, with the hopes of opening a local grow center if and when the legislation is passed.
Of the 10 proposed grow centers which would be authorized to operate under the new law -- which is currently being proposed by ResponsibleOhio for consideration on the Nov. 3 ballot -- Lachey's one of five investors involved with just one, a production facility (plant?) which would be located in Hudson, Ohio.
Though his part in the matter might be relatively small, his name still packs a lot of heat.
Lachey grew up in Ohio and even got his start as a singer at Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati. So, he's got some roots in the Buckeye State to be sure.
In a statement, Lachey said, "Ohio is my home, and as a resident and local business owner I am proud to be part of a movement that has the potential to create jobs, reinvigorate the local economy and improve the safety of our communities. Passage of this proposal will result in much-needed economic development opportunities across Ohio, and update the state’s position on marijuana in a smart and safe way."
