Justin Bieber hooked up with Martha Stewart again. The "Where Are U Now" singer linked with our favorite septuagenarian lifestyle expert in a new profile in Interview magazine, and he offered her some details on his upcoming album and discussed his taste in luxurious items.
Now, us peasants may not have a lot to relate to when Martha and Justin are bonding over private jets, but it's still fun to read about. Accompanying the interview are photos of Biebs by Steven Klein -- photos that might be suited for a sex dungeon (or your poster-plastered bedroom walls, whatever).
Marthy Marth and Bieby Biebs are old pals, first meeting backstage at "Late Show With David Letterman" in 2011 and again when he invited her to his Comedy Central "Roast of Justin Bieber" in March. Anyway, here are a few tidbits we learned about them from the JBiebs interview:
His drink of choice is tequila.
Don Julio 1942 tequila, to be exact. Martha Stewart asked him if he likes any fancy "sipping" tequilas, because of course she would. "I haven't. I haven't been introduced to that stuff yet." Introduce him, Martha.
Justin gets his cars customized for free.
He reveals that he's part-owner in West Coast Customs. He's previously had an episode on the garage's reality TV show, and he also Instagrams their cars quite often. "I keep a lot of them in the shop on display when I'm not using them. Just to help out the business," he said. "I've always loved doing up my cars, so being able to just take my car in at any time and tell them what to do, and not have to pay for it because I own the company, is pretty cool."
Martha Stewart thinks salmon is simple food.
Bieber admits that he's going to be eating a lot of salmon and mashed potatoes in Ibiza, where he's going for music inspiration. "Simple food," Martha comments plainly. But everyone knows you can dress up potatoes with some sprigs of lavender and a few drips of truffle oil, so, like, it's not that simple, Martha.
He invests in tech companies.
He co-founded Shots, an app like Instagram, except without the bullying, he said. And he invests in a lot of other tech companies too, but it's a secret. "A lot of different tech investments, but not a lot I can speak on because we want to kind of keep that private," he said.
Skrillex and Bieber have great 'chemistry.'
Bieber was featured on Skrillex and Diplo's Jack Ü project with his song "Where Are U Now," but apparently Skrill will be contributing a lot more to the upcoming JB album. "Skrillex is on a really new wave and has found a way to take my vocals and mix them and play with them and pitch it up to make it higher with these cool effects that sound really futuristic," Bieber said. "We have a really good chemistry."
He sometimes has girls over for breakfast.
OOOoOOooooO girls... Apparently, Bieber occasionally hosts women to break the fast with him. They come over in the morning to eat breakfast. From their house. To his house. Martha asked him if he cooks, to which responded, "I cook breakfast, and that's pretty much it." "For yourself or your girlfriend?" Martha asked, cleverly.
"For myself or if I have a girl. I made breakfast for my little brother the other day, some eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Simple."
His album will be about his life 'journey.'
Stewart inquires about his album, his follow-up to 2012's Believe. "It's just very personal," he said. He's admitted this before, once saying his break-up with Selena Gomez inspired some tracks. "People will be able to really get in to where my heart is. It's about my journey in life—stuff that I've been through. Maybe I can teach a lesson, certain things that are inspiring."
Martha got ~inspired~ by Bieber.
They talk about how Bieber's first instrument was a drum set when he was little. "After I saw you at the roast and watched some of your videos, I went out and bought my grandson a Ludwig junior drum set for his third birthday," Stewart told him. "Aw," Bieber responded, presumably with a twinkly eye and charismatic smile.
His album will feature ALL the instruments.
Yes, all of them. "We've got bass, we've got drums and guitar and keyboard," Justin tells Martha. "I mean, all the instruments." So yeah, that's pretty much it for instruments.
Martha needs a Maybach, like pronto. Someone get this lady a Maybach.
"You have a Maybach?" Stewart asks with a gleam of jealousy, imagining the new car smell. "My dream car. Do you sit in the front seat or the backseat?"
"I ride in the back," Bieber answers.
"Isn't it fabulous?" she asks, wild with desire.
"It's so nice," he says. "It's the smoothest ride I've ever been in."
Bieber keeps his platinum record at his grandma's house.
Justin says his platinum record for "Baby" is sitting in his grandma's house in Stratford, Ontario. "Yeah, her whole basement is full of plaques and stuff," he said. "We've been doing that since before I was famous. Just, like, when I would win track and field and stuff at school."
He also graduated with a 4.0.
Martha asked if he dropped out of school to pursue his music career when he was younger. "No, I finished high school with a 4.0 GPA." Whoa.
