Ed Sheeran Is Going All Medieval In New TV Show

And it's 'dark' and a bit 'gruesome.'

Ed Sheeran seems to be the latest musician turned actor. Everyone's favorite red head will be appearing in a "medieval TV show," that he describes as "really, really dark" and "gruesome."

“I am excited. I got the script through this week,” Ed revealed to Capital FM. “It’s not my show, it’s my friend’s show, so I don’t know how much he’s told the press about even the show."

Ed didn't give too many details on the upcoming project, which did get picked up by a network and is set to be released after this month, but did have this good news for his Sheerios:

“I don’t know how much I’m in it either, but it’s definitely a few episodes, and I don’t get killed off so that’s good,” the singer teased. “I’ve always wanted to act in things."

I'm just hoping this photo has something to do with it.

This isn't Ed's first foray into acting. Back in May he made an appearance on NBC's live episode of the sitcom "Undateable" and appeared on an episode of "Sesame Street."

“I feel like people would expect me to be in a rom-com or something," Ed said of his upcoming acting gig. "So I wanted to be in something people don’t expect me to."
