At this point, post-credits sequences are as crucial to superhero franchise movies as explosions and controversies about costumes and casting choices.

So when the cast of "Fantastic Four" -- Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell and Kate Mara -- piled into our studio at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 11), we made sure to ask them what we'd be seeing once the movie hits theaters on August 7.

"No we don't, there's no post-credits sequence," Bell replied.

However, it's for a very good reason.

"It does leave the door wide open for a lot of different movies," he continued. "I think this movie really focuses on the origins of each character individually, how they get their powers, how they learn to deal with them, how they learn to harness them, how they figure out that they're all stronger as four than they are as individuals, and kind of that's where the movie ends. There's so much more to go from, there. It leaves the door open."
