Dylan O'Brien Addresses Those 'Star Wars' Rumors Once And For All

Is Han Solo happening?

With reporting by Josh Horowitz

Ever since news broke this week that "Lego Movie" duo Christopher Miller and Phil Lord would be taking on a "Star Wars" spin-off about a younger Han Solo, Dylan O'Brien fans have been campaigning for the "Teen Wolf" and "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" star to pick up that blaster.

So of course, when O'Brien stopped by our studio at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 11), we just had to ask him -- would he be down to step into such an iconic role?

"That's so cool... it's so cool, because that'll be the dream," he replied. "I texted ['Scorch Trials' director] Wes [Ball] about it when I read about that movie and I was like, 'dude, you have to direct this either way,' because Wes is the biggest 'Star Wars' guy ever... but then again it also just gets my hopes up, and then I won't hear about the roles professionally."

Aww, don't say that, Dyl-Dyl. (Can we call him Dyl-Dyl? Sure, why not.)

Still, even if the role seems as far, far away as the galaxy from "Star Wars," O'Brien says he'd jump at the role if it was ever formally offered.

"That's a dream role for a kid my age," he concluded.
