Sam Smith Wrote An 'Omen' With Disclosure

I know I'm not the only one who's excited for some new Sam Smith music.

Little Sailors, if you've been perched on the edge of your boat, just waiting on Sam Smith to drop some new music, here's a life raft for you. That single we mentioned before -- the one that Sam announced in collaboration with Disclosure a few weeks back? It's got a name now and some Smith-centric cover art to get you extra jazzed for the new tune.

On Thursday (July 9) Smith and Disclosure announced the title of their new song -- Sam's first since undergoing vocal chord surgery earlier this summer, and his second in collaboration with Disclosure overall, after his breakout 2012 hit "Latch."

It's called "Omen," and Smith teamed up with Disclosure to let us all know that in the Twitterest way ever. Just scroll down to see how they tossed it back and forth until the full reveal.

Team. WERK.

Despite the somewhat foreboding title, we're taking this all as a good sign of what's to come between Sam and the EDM band which helped launch his career in the first place.

Plus, there's the golden fact that Jimmy Napier also helped write the number. While you might not know his name, you know his work because he wrote "Latch," "Stay with Me," "I'm Not the Only One" and a bunch of your other favorite Sam Smith songs.

Did we mention how much we're digging the fact that the pic ties in with the weird announcement image they'd all posted when they first announced this mini-reunion of artists?

And, of course, in keeping with the tone of his new song's title, Smith offered a little warning that more news is coming next week.

Dun dun dun! (No, but seriously, Yayayyayayayayayyayayyy!)
