Ariana Grande has pulled out of the MLB All-Star Game concert on Saturday night in the aftermath of a controversial video in which she said "I hate America." However, reps for Ariana say dental surgery can be blamed for the cancellation. Demi Lovato will take her place, Billboard reports.
On Tuesday, a video obtained by TMZ showed Grande in a donut shop with her friends, including new rumored boyfriend, dancer Ricky Alvarez. The shop workers claim that the couple dared each other to lick the donuts, and now the internet is in a tizzy about the pop star's tongue touching a powdered donut. Also, when presented a tray of fresh pastries in the clip, Ariana says, "I hate America."
Ariana, according to Twitter, just had some wisdom teeth removed, and the Associated Press reports that that is the reason for the cancellation. While there is still no statement from MLB, Lovato's rep confirmed to Billboard that she is performing in Grande's place.
Demi will be joined by Rixton, who are performing as scheduled. The timing is perfect for Demi, since she just released her new single, "Cool For The Summer."
