Miguel just sparked a debate with comments about Frank Ocean.

The Wildheart singer told The Sunday Times that he and the Odd Future artist are "cordial" at best, according to NME. But then things got even bolder.

"I wouldn’t say we were friends," Miguel explained in the interview. "To be completely honest -- and no disrespect to anyone -- I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around."

Whoa! That was a fearless declaration -- and one that got the internet buzzing.

Some simply couldn't believe it.

Others sided with Miguel.

Some sided with Frank Ocean.

Others said they were both great.

And some said they were both trash.

There's some history here. In 2011, Miguel spoke with MTV 2 about how good their friendship was, telling us he viewed Ocean as a “peer,” adding, “That’s like my boy.”

But things appeared to change by 2013 when Miguel told TMZ that he didn’t regret not giving Ocean a standing ovation at the Grammys where Frank took home two trophies including the “Best Urban Contemporary Album” honors.

But the more recent convo didn't end there. Miguel also went on to address comparisons that are often made about himself, Ocean and The Weeknd, according to Billboard.

"It's interesting,” he said. "But we’ll see who’s in it for the long haul. It’s like a marathon, you know?"

You guessed it. That got the web talking, too.

Some started ranking their favorites.

Others commended Miguel's confidence.

Some stayed neutral.
