MGK Breaks Down The Sound Of His Sophomore LP 'General Admission'

Expect 'hunger.'

Machine Gun Kelly fans are waiting on the MC's upcoming sophomore album, General Admission, and we recently got him to discuss what it will sound like.

Now, the album isn't out yet, but we've already gotten a glimpse of what we can expect through the intense music video for "A Little More." On Sunday (Jun. 28), the Ohio spitter spoke with MTV News about how it's a sign of what's to come.

"[The album] is a continuation of that," he said on the red carpet for the BET Awards. "But it’s also a good balance of street music, too. I wanted people to get the vibe of where I’m from. I don’t feel like I totally captured that until this album."

His sound is also going to be a bit different from what you might expect.

"A lot of live musicianship," Kelly - who worked with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and Jim Jonsin on the LP - explained. "I’m encouraging that. It’s an era of electronic music. I kind of want to bring back musicianship."

So, what will this LP sound like? "It’s gonna sound like Cleveland," he added. "It’s gonna sound like hunger."

Fans will be getting a dose of this when MGK hits the road. His tour begins tomorrow at the House of Blues on Sunset, a venue that's slated to be closed down in August, according to Billboard. It's something that isn't lost on Kells.

"I’m one of the last shows at the L.A. House of Blues," he said. "Rest in peace, House of Blues on Sunset, man."

The rapper might be gearing up for a tour and an album release, but lately he's also been in the headlines for his (rumored) relationship with Amber Rose. In the past, he's hinted that he isn't a fan of the attention that comes from the (rumored) high profile romance. So, we asked him if he's gotten used to it.

"I still don’t like that spotlight," he said. Fair enough.
