"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" is a fantastic superhero movie that perfectly combines what made both branches of the X-Men franchise great. But it's also missing one important star from the earlier movies -- Anna Paquin, who played the power-draining mutant Rogue in "X-Men," "X-2," and "X-Men: The Last Stand." Her scenes were completely cut from the final product, so you never got the chance to see her a final time on the big screen. Sigh.
But soon diehard "X-Men" fans will get a glimpse of what might have been, because an extra 17 minutes will be added back into the movie for a new cut that's being called the "Rogue Cut." This elusive extended version has been hinted at for what feels like years, and it's FINALLY set to come out next month. FINALLY! It's HAPPENING!
Want more proof that the "Rogue Cut" is real? MTV News has this exclusive clip to show you, in which Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) discuss why they should bring Rogue back to help them defeat the sentinels. Lol guys, self-referential much?
"X-Men Days Of Future Past: The Rogue Cut" will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital HD starting July 14, and contains nearly 90 minutes of deleted scenes, gag reels, and featurettes full of never-before seen footage.
If you can't wait that long and you're in the San Diego area in time for SDCC this year, then make sure you check out the free fan screening of the "Rogue Cut" on Saturday, July 11! More details are located on the graphic below, courtesy of 20th Century Fox:
