The Girl Scouts of Western Washington were overjoyed when they received a donation of $100,000 because, um, that's hella money. However, in May, they received a letter from the same donor that read: "Please guarantee that our gift will not be used to support transgender girls. If you can’t, please return the money."
So that's exactly what they did -- they gave it back. "Girl Scouts is for every girl," Megan Ferland, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, told the Seattle Met. "And every girl should have the opportunity to be a Girl Scout if she wants to."
Down but certainly not out, the Girl Scouts of Western Washington made an Indiegogo page to make up for the lost $100,000 donation.
Amazing news: At press time, not only have the Girl Scouts raised back every last cent of the $100,000 -- they've exceeded it. All in just one day.
Good going, Girl Scouts! We're proud of ya.
