Get ready to get UR freak on again because Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott is ready to sock it 2 you now -- or sometime soon, at least. Which is supa dupa fly.
At the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards on Thursday (June 25), Timbaland announced that Missy would soon be releasing a new single, produced by none other than Pharrell. Which makes us clap-along-HAPPY.
"Ya'll just don't know the half about Missy Elliott, but I love my sister to death," he said. "I know the tabloids love to talk, and I'm gonna say it now. Her first single is from my cousin - and yes, we are family - Pharrell."
Although Timbo's led us wrong before regarding Missy's musical endeavors -- he told us she'd be releasing a new album back in 2012, leaving us teary eyed when that didn't happen -- Missy posted a Twitter pic of herself with Pharrell in the studio back in February.
And in February, Pharrell himself confirmed he was working on some sort of collaboration with Missy on "The Tonight Show" this April, saying, "the way her mind works, we're in the studio, and just the things that she says and thinks about and her video concepts -- I didn't know that all those video concepts were so ... I'm so proud of her man, that's Virginia."
Missy is coming back to work it. Throw your hands up!
For her part, Missy's kept it hush hush but she did clarify Tim's story to state that there is no official release date for the single yet, but she didn't deny anything he'd said.
Missy's last album release was 2005's Cookbook.
All we know is, Missy, we want to listen to you now.
