The 13 Best Celebrity Transformations Of 2015...So Far

We're only halfway through 2015, but people have been making some serious changes. From makeup artists who can contour their face into Kim Kardashian's to former VMA twerkers turned social activists (proud of you, Miley), we like what we see. And while there's plenty of time for more transformations, we've rounded up the best that have happened so far—and trust us, they're good.

  1. A$AP Rocky

From rapper to fashion aficionado, A$AP Rocky never sticks with just one thing. 2015 was the year A$AP dipped his toes in the acting waters with his role in the movie “DOPE” alongside Zoe Kravitz and Chanel Iman. As someone who likes to keep busy, we imagine this won’t be the last thing he tries this year.

  2. Ruby Rose

Up until this year, Ruby Rose was known as another model/DJ, but thanks to her role on “Orange Is the New Black” (and new BFF Justin Bieber), we know her as a budding actor. Ruby has also established quite the media presence as well with her further opening the dialogue about gender fluidity.

  3. Zendaya

You may not have heard much about Zendaya before 2015, but the actor/singer has definitely worked to change that. The former Disney star has become a body positive activist, calling out people for body, hair and makeup shaming all while being the world’s coolest high school student (well, high school graduate now).

  4. Paolo Ballesteros

Makeup artist Paolo Ballesteros has become pretty well known for his literal transformations into different celebrities. This year he took it to the next level, morphing himself into the Kardashian-Jenner women as well as other celebrities like Emma Stone, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez.

  5. Drake

Drake took a brief break from being a rapper this year to be the keynote speaker at Apple’s announcement for Apple Music. We already knew Drizzy had a way with words from his three albums and role as the ever-wise Jimmy Brooks on “Degrassi,” but this is a new level. Started from the bottom now we’re at Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference!

  6. Cara Delevingne

For the past few years, Cara Delevingne has slowly been working her way into acting all while maintaining a pretty busy modeling schedule. But with her role in the upcoming “Paper Towns,” Cara’s entering full-on acting mode. Sorry, Karl. We’re sure she’ll keep in touch.

  7. Justin Bieber

2015 has been a year of growth for the Biebs. He’s yet to egg anymore houses and took his Comedy Central Roast in stride. Bieber is a man now, and there’s no greater proof of this manhood than his ab-tastic Calvin Klein ads. Mark 2015 as the year the Biebs fully transforms from boy to underwear model.

  8. Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer has never been one to hold back her opinion, but this year we've seen a major development in Amy Schumer the feminist. The third season of her Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer” has shown us all how messed up, bizarre and funny this sexist world we live in can be. Sometimes it takes a bunch of viral sketches to get people’s attention on certain issues, but thanks to Amy, people are watching.

  9. Kim Kardashian

The Kanye-era evolution of Kim’s style has truly been an historic time to be alive. But for all her latex dresses and sheer blouses, nothing has come close to that one week in March when our beloved Kim K suddenly dyed her hair so blonde that Draco Malfoy and Jared Leto memes became inescapable. It was sleek, it was edgy, it was everything Tom Felton wishes he still were. Though she's back to her brunette ways, we hold a special place in our heart for platinum blonde Kim.

  10. Jared Leto
    Warner Bros.

Jared Leto is a true Renaissance man: musician, actor, hair enthusiast. We’ve seen his dedication to the craft before with his role in “Dallas Buyers Club” when he lost 30 pounds to play an HIV positive trans woman, so his complete transformation to play the joker in “Suicide Squad” isn't so much surprising as it is impressive. With the green hair, painted face, body/face tattoos and an overall creepy AF demeanor, Jared’s dedication to literally turning into the joker gives us high hopes for the film.

  11. Miley Cyrus

No one would describe Miley Cyrus as a wallflower, and this year she’s really caught our attention. She’s spent most of 2015 focusing on the launch of her Happy Hippie Foundation, which works to “fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.” She’s rallied other celebrities and started a campaign on Instagram to highlight different stories of LGBTQ youth who are involved in the foundation and bring awareness to the cause.

  12. Zayn Malik

2015 has been a year of change for Zayn Malik. After leaving One Direction, Zayn has since proceeded to do a lot of things with his hair while also hitting up every major fashion show that he can feasibly attend. Even though it’s only been a few months since he peaced out of 1D, there’s already talk of solo music and him landing a major fashion campaign. Could 2015 be the year of Zayn? We think so.

  13. Caitlyn Jenner

2015 has arguably been the biggest year of Caitlyn Jenner’s life and she’s only halfway done with it. After her groundbreaking interview with Diane Sawyer where she came out as transgender to her now-iconic Vanity Fair cover, Caitlyn has quickly become an outspoken activist for transgender rights. She even managed to turn “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” into a platform to learn about the nuances of surrounding the transgender cause. Most recently, she's been dedicating her time to speaking with trans youth and attending Pride events in NYC. And with her new docu-series "I Am Cait" airing in July, we can only imagine what amazing things she’ll accomplish before the year is done.
