Details about “Fear the Walking Dead” have been kept pretty heavily guarded, but we now know a few things: there will be running. And foreboding music. And lots of panicked looks, like so:
The companion series to AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has released its first teaser after March’s debut trailer, and it features a freaked out dude named Nick (Frank Dillane) manically escaping from an unseen terror. There’s no other sign of life — or death — in the sneak peek, but it manages to pack a whole lot of panicked urgency into 30 seconds, especially with that super dramatic score.
In the clip, Nick climbs out the window of a run-down building and dodges down an alley and between a fence before breaking into an all-out sprint once he reaches the road. Stumbling in his baggy jeans and unbuttoned shirt, it’s entirely possible that he was simply caught in the bedroom with someone he wasn’t supposed to be with. But c’mon… this is the “Walking Dead” universe, so the enemy at large is surely a walker… right?
“Fear the Walking Dead” is slated to premiere in August and will reportedly focus on the initial start of the zombie outbreak on the West Coast, specifically in Los Angeles. The story focuses on a divorced teacher, Travis (Cliff Curtis) and a high school guidance counselor, Madison (Kim Dickens), as well as her two children, Nick (Dillane) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey).
Oh, and for anyone who’s scratching their head trying to place where they’ve seen Dillane before, here’s a little blast from the past:
Yep, once upon a time the 24-year-old actor scared our socks off as Tom Riddle (a.k.a. teen Voldemort) in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” in 2009. Voldemort facing off against walkers in a zombie apocalypse?! Now that’s something worth tuning in for.
