It's getting harder and harder to find creative ways to propose, thanks to the growing trend of YouTube-ready choreographed marriage masterpieces, but one guy in Australia found inspiration on the radio -- and managed to put together one of the most elaborate proposals we've ever seen.
Liam Cooper decided to recreate the music video for MAGIC!'s "Rude," a summer hit that tells the story of a guy hoping to propose to his girlfriend despite her disapproving father. Cooper didn't just redo the video shot-for-shot, though, opting to screen his film at a local movie theater for his unsuspecting girlfriend and several dozen of their closest friends.
"When I decided I wanted to propose to my girlfriend Amy, I wanted it to be something pretty special and something she'd never see coming," Cooper writes in the video's description. "I decided to make a music video to the song 'Rude' by Magic and screen it in a cinema after the trailers while we were on a seemingly normal date with her sister and brother-in-law. I snuck out to 'go to the bathroom' and you'll have to watch what happens next!"
What happens next, whether or not you're a fan of the 2014 annoying-but-inoffensive Canadian reggae tune, is pretty cute. Amy, though visibly embarrassed by all of the attention, says yes, and the happy, newly engaged couple is able to celebrate with their friends, family and even a special message from the band themselves.

Unlike some unorthodox proposals, this one, fortunately, ended in a "yes." Would a low-key popping-the-question at dinner have worked just as well? Sure, but he's gonna marry her anyway. (Sorry.)
