The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical's road to the big screen has had more detours than Dorothy's stroll down the yellow brick road, but that hasn't stopped Seyfried from campaigning to play Kristin Chenoweth's iconic part in a film adaptation. As for who'd play her wicked partner in crime Elphaba? Seyfried has a perfect suggestion: Anna Kendrick.
Oh. My. God. What is this feeling, so sudden and new? Enthusiasm -- because that sounds abso-freakin-lutely fantastic! Seyfriend and Kendrick are both go-to starlets for Hollywood movie musicals, so it would make perfect sense. Plus, Kendrick definitely has the edge to play the future Wicked Witch of the West.
"She would play Elphaba, and I'd play Glinda," Seyfriend told MTV News during a London press day for her new raunchy flick "Ted 2." "I'm not kidding! I've been campaigning to play Glinda for years now."
Seyfried has been so steadfast in her pursuit of the role, she's taken vocal lessons to prepare for the part.
"I've been practicing Glinda for years with my voice coach," said Seyfried. "I'm set. Call Marc Platt and tell him I'm ready."
Brb, calling Platt and composer Stephen Schwartz immediately to sort this out.
