Earlier this week, Miley Cyrus launched #InstaPride, a campaign in partnership with Instagram, dedicated to sharing the "stories of transgender and gender expansive people from around the country." Today (June 18), Miley introduced us to campaign's third star—Gigi Gorgeous.

Gigi is a YouTube star, who revealed she is transgender in a video she shared on her very popular channel. Miley explained to Marie Claire that one of the things that drew her to Gigi was her confidence. She says, "I became fascinated with her because she did videos before transitioning and then she went MIA for a while and then she came back transitioned as Gigi Gorgeous. It was incredible to see someone so confident. That's what I think I get from her, and it's not just because she's beautiful. She has a confidence that comes from inside. She was beautiful before she was Gigi Gorgeous. She always had Gigi Gorgeous in her."

As her 1.5 million YouTube subscribers know, ever since her "I Am Transgender" video, Gigi has been extremely open about her transition, answering viewer questions, sharing her experiences, and, generally, providing much-needed exposure of life as a transgender person to viewers around the world.

While Gigi has shared her life with YouTube, teaming up with Miley for #InstaPride has given her an even larger platform and, simultaneously, given the world an opportunity to learn. She says, "I think everyone is hearing all these stories and it's so inspiring. Everyone's becoming more open-minded and it's a very beautiful thing."

Miley echoes Gigi's sentiment—and, actually, reiterates one of the major points she made in her heartfelt amfAR Inspiration Gala speech—telling Marie Claire, "This gives me a purpose. And the fact that I get to do this and help people and make the earth evolve...I just think this is the most modern thing to fight for."

That's for sure, Miley—we can't wait to see what's next.
