You Can Buy The Notorious B.I.G. And Bad Boy Record’s Original Contracts - For Real

No, this isn't a joke.

How much would you pay to own a tangible peace of hip-hop history? Because this is your chance.

Rolling Stone reports that Paddle8 is putting a number of important documents from Bad Boy Records up for auction, including the Notorious B.I.G.'s termination agreement with Uptown Records and Arista Records' agreement to purchase Bad Boy Records, where Biggie eventually called home.

That termination agreement contains Biggie's signature, which will reportedly make it the only document available to the public that contains his authentic John Hancock. All nine pages of Bad Boy documents are expected to sell for anywhere from $5,000 to $7,000.

Biggie's termination agreement with Uptown Records' parent company MCA Records, showed that he purchased the masters to his singles "Party and Bullsh-t" and "Flip That Sh-t," plus some Ready To Die songs for $326,092.91, shortly before the album was released.

And in the contract of sale between Diddy (referred to as "Puff" here) and Arista Records, we can see that Bad Boy was purchased by Arista for nearly $2 million and that Diddy was offered a $62,500 quarterly salary at that point.

He later renegotiated that deal for about $10 million, when he'd filled the roster with other buzzing artists like Ma$e.
