Since Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair cover debuted last week, there's been an incredible outpouring of support for her. Unfortunately, it seems there are a lot of people are still confused or misguided about what her transition means for the LGBTQIA community and why it's such an important moment.
Thankfully, wisdom can come from all kinds of places, and in this case, it comes from kids. In this video from SheKnows, a group of children are shown pictures of Jenner from the 1976 Olympics and also ones from her Vanity Fair spread. Their reactions? "Heartwarming" doesn't even do the feeling justice.
The kids are empathetic, understanding, and totally get it. In fact, what they're most shocked about is when they're shown some of the critical Tweets from adults online. "I think it's partly because the people who are saying that are afraid to change themselves," said one of the kids.
Consensus? The future is looking bright, and we hope kids will lead the way. As one of them noted in the video, "it's important for you to be yourself; because if you're not yourself, then who are you?"
