Is a trip back to Stars Hollow imminent? More importantly, could "Gilmore Girls" fans finally get the Luke-Lorelai wedding of their dreams?!
The cast of "Gilmore Girls" reunited Saturday night (June 6) at ATX Television Festival, and the biggest question on everyone's minds was the alleged reunion project in the works.
Recently, Scott Patterson (Luke) got our hopes up when he revealed that there had been talks about getting everyone back together onscreen. Sadly, that is not the case.
"There’s nothing in the works at the moment,” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino told the packed crowd at the "Gilmore" reunion panel. “Here’s the good thing: Nobody here hates each other. It would have to be the right everything -- the right format, the right timing. It would have to be honored in a certain way. If it ever came around, I think we would all jump in and do it."
“If it ever happened,” she added, "I promise we’ll do it correctly."
Sherman-Palladino will no doubt be back to write the project if and when it happens, and tbh, we'd love to see her behind the camera as well. Earlier in the panel, she confessed that "it was hard to not be able to say 'cut' that final time."
Patterson, arguably the biggest proponent of the revival, said he'd love to give the fans the ending that they deserve. "It's a love letter back to the fans," he said.
Somebody call Kirk. We bet he'd make it happen.
